Blog first teardown and reflection

I recently looked at my blog and thought: “Well, what exactly am I doing here?”
It’s been quite a journey — no sponsors, no ads, and no passive income (unless you count the satisfaction of seeing my analytics graph move by one visit). So, I decided to do a small teardown and reflect on why I even started this in the first place, what I’ve gained, and whether it’s worth continuing.

🧭 Why I’m doing it / how it all started?

I’m not doing this for money. I’m doing it because I love learning and sharing what I learn. When I hit a wall while coding or exploring a new tech concept, I immediately think, “Someone else will hit this same wall — maybe I can leave a note on it.”

It’s my way of giving back to the internet that’s helped me so much. And if, in the process, I help just one person get unstuck, that’s already a win.

Also, writing helps me structure my thoughts. It’s like debugging my brain. When I write, I understand things better. Sometimes, I even discover I didn’t fully understand something until I tried to explain it in plain words.

⏱️ What’s que cost?

Writing a blog post takes me around three hours on a good day — sometimes more if I fall into the rabbit hole of “just checking one more reference.” Then there’s editing, formatting, adding screenshots, and that eternal battle with WordPress spacing.

And the cost isn’t only time. There’s also that quiet question that lurks in the background: “Does anyone actually read this?” Spoiler: not always.

But I see it as part of the creative tax — you pay upfront with time, energy, and hope, and maybe you’ll get a return later in knowledge, connection, or just the joy of having created something.

💡 What do I earn by doing it?

I don’t earn money from the blog. But what I do earn feels more meaningful (most days).

I earn satisfaction. I earn clarity. I earn the ability to look back and see my progress — not just as a developer but as a writer and thinker.

Occasionally, someone drops a comment or a message saying they found a post helpful, and that’s pure dopamine. Those rare messages are like little digital high-fives that keep me going.

And even when no one reacts, I still learn from the process. Writing forces me to slow down and think.

📊 What analytics are telling me?

Let’s be real: most people don’t read blogs anymore. We live in the golden age of scrolling. Attention spans are short, and TikTok wins every time.

According to my analytics, my posts get a few dozen visits at best — sometimes a couple hundred if I share them around. Average time on page? A few seconds. I can practically hear readers saying, “Nice title… but i prefer to doom scroll tiktok instead.” and bouncing away.

But that’s okay. Because the ones who stay, read, and maybe learn something, and this are the reasons this blog exists.

🪞 Final reflection

When I started this blog, I had no idea where it would go. I still don’t. But I’ve realized something: it’s not about traffic, SEO, or numbers. It’s about consistency, curiosity, and connection.

Writing has made me a better learner and a more reflective developer. It’s given me a quiet space to think — something that’s getting rare in the world of hot takes and short-form content.

So, will I keep writing? Absolutely. And if you’ve made it this far — first, thank you. You’re officially part of the 5% who read past the halfway point.

But more important yet, add a comment bellow saying “I read it to the end”. This will make my day!
