AI: From Skepticism to Core Dependency

This article reflects my personal views and my views alone. The content has been authored by me to ensure an authentic perspective on the impact of this technology in our field.
The “Ice Cream” Moment
Let’s start at the beginning. When did the shift happen?
Regardless of the academic and technical history of Artificial Intelligence, for most of us, the “Genesis” moment was November 30, 2022—the launch of ChatGPT. It has been three years since that milestone, and the landscape has changed irrevocably.
I consider myself well-informed regarding tech trends, yet I first heard about ChatGPT through office chatter. Colleagues would ask, “Have you tried it yet?” with the same casual tone they’d use to recommend a new ice cream flavor. At the time, I was deeply focused on the disruption of Bitcoin and DeFi, so I was initially slow to react.
When I finally gave it a try, I was fascinated. Having spent years dealing with rigid, frustrating chatbots, this was a paradigm shift. It wasn’t just a marginal improvement; it was a quantum leap in conversational logic.

From Curiosity to Core Utility
Fast forward three years, and AI has moved from a “cool tool” to a fundamental part of my workflow. Currently, I leverage AI for:
- Contextual Research: Those complex Google searches that used to result in 10+ open tabs are now resolved within a single, coherent “conversation.”
- Decision Support: Comparing technical specifications or consumer products now takes two minutes of summarization rather than an hour of manual cross-referencing.
- Technical Validation: As a Tech Lead, I use it to validate syntax, peer-review implementation logic, and brainstorm architecture patterns instantaneously.
- Virtual Subject Matter Expertise: Whether I need to discuss electrical engineering, mechanics, or agriculture, I have an on-demand specialist at my disposal.
- Creative Asset Generation: Utilizing models like Nano Banana for imagery and Suno for audio production.
To put it bluntly: I am as dependent on AI today as I am on a search engine. It is no longer optional; it is foundational.

The Trajectory: Where are we heading?
The pace of evolution is staggering. This isn’t a static tool; it’s an ecosystem that learns and integrates.
- Every day, I receive a personalized, AI-generated training plan (check my previous post here).
- Every week, I receive an automated financial audit—a summary of expenses, alignment with financial goals, and recurring payment alerts (read more about my automation setup here).
While this is fascinating for any “geek,” it also paints a very clear picture of our trajectory. We are moving towards a world of hyper-personalization and autonomous agents.
